The important thing to remember when gathering evidence is that the more evidence the better - that is, the more evidence you gather to demonstrate your skills, the more confident an assessor can be that you have learned the skills not just at one point in time, but are continuing to apply and develop those skills (as opposed to just learning for the test!). Furthermore, one piece of evidence that you collect will not usualy demonstrate all the required criteria for a unit of competency, whereas multiple overlapping pieces of evidence will usually do the trick!

What evidence can you provide to prove your understanding of each of the following citeria?
Plan underwater search and recovery.
Identify size, weight and other characteristics of lost object. Completed |
Evidence:
Assess probable and possible location of lost object and define search area. Completed |
Evidence:
Identify and assess site characteristics and hazards that impact the search and recovery operation. Completed |
Evidence:
Determine suitable search methods and patterns according to situation. Completed |
Evidence:
Determine suitable recovery methods according to size, weight and depth of object to be recovered. Completed |
Evidence:
Select search and recovery equipment according to requirements. Completed |
Evidence:
Confirm diver roles and protocols for communications between buddy and crew through a pre-dive briefing. Completed |
Evidence:
Conduct search.
Use surface techniques and above water landmarks to assist in locating position of submerged objects before descent. Completed |
Evidence:
Establish boundaries of underwater search area, after descent, and mark starting point with appropriate equipment. Completed |
Evidence:
Follow underwater patterns of travel to locate lost objects. Completed |
Evidence:

Evidence:
Mark position of submerged objects for later retrieval if required. Completed |
Evidence:
Recover objects.

Evidence:
Mark location of heavy objects with buoy and line, in case of sinking during retrieval. Completed |
Evidence:
Rig lift bag using appropriate knots or clips and check security. Completed |
Evidence:

Evidence:
Swim to surface with lift bag or allow to rise independently, assuming safe position in relation to bag. Completed |
Evidence:
